As part of our Gender & Diversity Consulting, we offer you information, advice and support on all issues relating to the integration of equal opportunities and diversity measures in coordinated research programs. Together with the project coordinators of the planned or already approved research networks, we design and develop concrete and tailor-made measures for the promotion of young researchers, early-stage researchers and the realization of family-friendly working conditions for your equal opportunities and diversity module.

Since April 2016, KIT has been a member of the nationwide network GenderConsulting in Research Alliances and a founding member of the Helmholtz Network DEI.

  • on the quantitative presentation of the equal opportunities situation in your Division, e.g. by preparing subject-specific figures
  • how to apply for equal opportunities funding from the DFG, e.g. by providing text modules and personal advice
  • on the efficient and compliant use of these funds
  • for the conception and implementation of measures to promote equal opportunities and diversity
  • to prepare the presentation of equal opportunities and diversity measures for your appraisals and inspections, and
  • to evaluate equal opportunities and diversity activities and their conceptual development

  • Childcare with FlexiKids: acquisition of hourly quotas
  • Coaching for female doctoral candidates on various topics: Final doctorate phase, career planning, transition to the postdoc phase
  • Institution and equipment of family rooms at KIT
  • Workshops and training on various topics (gender aspects in selection processes, leadership skills, etc.)
  • Research network-oriented personnel development programme with a focus on gender sensitization and the development of gender competence
