Network for equality controlling at universities

Since 2014, KIT has been an active member of the "Equal Opportunity Controlling at Universities" network, which comprises a total of seven German universities: Freie Universität Berlin, Friedrich-Schiller-Universität Jena, Georg-August-Universität Göttingen, Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main, Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, University of Konstanz, Technische Universität Berlin. The target of the network is to (further) develop gender equality controlling/monitoring tools for universities through a close and regular exchange of good practice.

In 2016, the practical guide"Target values and cascade model. Modeling and application in gender equality work at universities" was developed in 2016, which bundles methods, instruments and best practices for setting target values and implementing and applying the cascade model.

GenderConsulting network

KIT has been a member of the nationwide "GenderConsulting in Research Networks" network since April 2016.

The network is an association of gender equality stakeholders who are involved in gender consulting and the development and implementation of equal opportunities measures for research alliances at universities. The central targets of the network are the exchange of experience, formulation of quality standards for gender consulting at universities, development of strategies for quality assurance and sustainable cooperation with the DFG and other relevant third-party funding bodies.

Diversity Network

KIT is a member of the "Network Diversity at Universities". This network brings together representatives of German universities who are involved in the implementation of diversity and anti-discrimination tasks. The network's overarching target is to establish a diversity-friendly university landscape. As part of an exchange of expertise and experience, existing diversity and anti-discrimination activities are reflected upon and new approaches for the institutionalization of diversity strategies and structures at universities are developed.

Helmholtz Network for DEI

In the Helmholtz for DEI network, representatives from (almost) all Helmholtz Centers discuss topics related to diversity, equity and inclusion. Experiences and best practice examples are exchanged and joint cross-center activities and courses are planned and implemented.
